Keita and the Dolphins now available in Braille for Portuguese speakers!

CCAHD Partner, the Kitabanga Project, developed this Portuguese Braille version of Kieta in partnership with the Angolan National Commission for UNESCO (CNU-Angola), the Green Nation Association and the Provincial Office of Education of Cuanza Sul. The braille translation formed part of a national environmental and health education programme called “From Nature to the Classroom: Recycle & Turtle Trail”,  which includes context-specific extracurricular activities with the objective of encouraging environmentally responsible practices inside and outside primary and secondary schools nationwide.
The programme strives to make environmental issues more inclusive, with equal opportunities in access to reading for children, young people and adults with special educational needs, including visual impairment. This new version of Keita and the Dolphins broadens the accessibility and reach of the National Environmental Education Strategy 2022-2050, which aims to provide environmental literacy and ocean literacy to 80% of the Angolan population.
Congratulations to our Angolan partners! We hope that other CCAHD partners will be similarly inspired!
