Abstract
This paper summarises sightings of a maximum of three Atlantic humpback dolphins made in the Dakhla Bay between 2006 and 2016. The paper speculates that intense wind surfing activities, rather than fisheries bycatch present a major threat to the species, and may be forcing them out of their preferred habitat. It also reports on a mixed group of Atlantic humpback dolphins and bottlenose dolphins in the Bay.
